PRIVACY NOTE

Your information

Last updated 5 November 2026.

AI for Charity is run by volunteers. This note explains what we collect through this website and what we do with it. Questions go through the contact form.

What we collect

When a nonprofit sends a project request, we store what you type into the form: your organization’s name, country, registration details and website, your name, role and email address, your time zone, the kind of project and the description.

When a volunteer applies through their AI agent, we store the profile the agent sends: your name, email address, time zone, country, languages, skills and availability, the AI tools, plans and credits you tell us you can use, any portfolio link and message, and the name of the agent that sent it.

When you use the contact form, we store your name, email address, the topic, your message and any reference you give.

Please don’t send donor lists, beneficiary records or passwords. We don’t need them and the forms don’t ask for them.

Spam checks and abuse limits

The request and contact forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person is sending them. Turnstile loads only when you open a form, and Cloudflare handles that check under its own privacy policy. If Turnstile cannot load, your browser does a short calculation instead, and nothing is sent to Cloudflare for the check. We note which check each request or message passed. To limit repeated attempts on the forms and the volunteer application, we keep a one-way, keyed hash of your IP address. Hashes older than 24 hours are deleted the next time anyone uses the site. We don’t store the IP address itself.

Visit counts

We count page views with two tools that use no cookies and do not identify you: our own Umami instance, and Cloudflare Web Analytics. They record the page, the referring site, and the browser and country in general terms. Umami ignores anything after a question mark or hash in the address, so form references never reach it. Neither tool is used by the request, contact or volunteer forms.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising. The site sets no cookies of its own, and its fonts are served from this site.

While you fill in the request form, your answers are saved in your browser on your own device so they aren’t lost if the page closes. Nothing leaves your device until you press Send. The saved copy is removed when you send the request or choose Clear the form. On a shared computer, clear the form if you stop before sending.

How we use it

Each new request, message or application is forwarded to the coordinator by email and as a private message, so it is seen quickly. Volunteers read requests to check eligibility and reply. They use applications to match volunteers with projects. Coordinators may keep a working copy of requests in a private spreadsheet, and a deletion request covers that copy too. A nonprofit’s request is shared only with the volunteers considering that project. We share a volunteer’s contact details with a nonprofit only after the volunteer agrees to take the project.

Where it is stored

The website and its database run on Cloudflare. Replies come from volunteers’ own email accounts, so each reply is handled by that volunteer’s email provider.

How long we keep it

We keep your information until you ask us to delete it, unless a law requires us to keep it for longer. We also keep backups of the database for up to 30 days, so information you ask us to delete leaves the backups within that time. Our backups do not include the IP address hashes. Cloudflare also keeps its own recovery history of the database for a limited time, which can include them.

Seeing or deleting your information

Use the contact form and choose “See or delete my information”. Give the address you used, and we will send you a copy of what we hold or delete it.
